Application Process
Step 1: On-line Application
All instructors interested in teaching with 7ACT are required to fill in an on-line application, being sure to include all of the requested information. Incomplete applications will be rejected.
Step 2: Application Evaluation
The 7ACT Foreign Personnel Manager will then evaluate each application. Successful applicants will be invited for an initial telephone interview.
Successful applicants must be NATIVE-LEVEL English speakers, and have at least 6 months teaching experience in Japan. A valid work visa and a 4-year university degree is required.
7ACT DOES NOT register applicants with any of the following statuses of residence: Visitor (Tourist), Working-holiday, SOFA, Cultural Activities, College / Precollege Student, and Trainee. Incomplete applications, or those that contain spelling or grammatical errors will be rejected. 7ACT reserves the right to reject applications from non-native English instructors.
Step 3: Interview
Each instructor is required to bring a copy of their current resume, a photocopy of the front and back of your Residence Card, the picture page (and visa page, if applicable) of your passport, and anything that is necessary for a demonstration lesson.
The demonstration lesson should be around 20 minutes long and suitable for a basic or low-intermediate-level adult student. The 7ACT system will be further explained and successful applicants will be asked to sign a registration contract.
Step 4: Registration
The instructor's information will be input into the 7ACT database, and an introduction Email will be sent to the instructor containing an ID and password for accessing the 7ACT Instructor's Page.
Step 5: Introductions
The Matching or Sales Staff will contact the instructor when they have a student who fits the instructor's profile. This may take a few weeks, as students are introduced as they become available. Instructors who cooperate well with the 7ACT staff will generally receive more introductions.
